The Department of Politics will be hosting a debate on the role and limits of free speech in the 21st century, to coincide with a new report from the political initiative FREER, written by Kemi Badenoch MP (Con - Saffron Walden and a Conservative Party Vice Chair).
This is a cross-party debate, with speakers including elected officials, candidates, and leading academics, who will address the following question (and more!):
What are the current challenges to society posed by free speech?
Should there be limits to free speech in the political arena?
Should there be limits to free speech on campus?
The discussion will be followed by a Q+A session with the audience.
