Known as the father of modern British cycling, and for his much-loved co-presenting of ITV's Tour de France and BBC Olympic coverage, we are delighted to welcome Chris Boardman who joins us in Liverpool to talk about his long-awaited autobiography Triumphs and Turbulence. His story is full of intrigue: from Olympic success, to the famous duels with Graeme Obree and the insanity of the Tour de France. Join Chris for an eye-opening evening as he shines a light on the whole of British cycling from its start to being a world renowned machine.
Chris is an inspirational British former racing cyclist, he won a gold medal in the 1992 Summer Olympics, has claimed the world hour record three times and has repeatedly claimed the yellow jersey in the Tour de France. Chris became a legend through his combination of physical ability and technical preparation and, inevitably, he lit the spark for modern British cycling - without him there would be no Hoy, Wiggins or Cavendish.
Chris will be in conversation with sports and music journalist Jamie Bowman. Join us for what will be a fantastic one-off event in Chris' home city - there will also be an audience Q&A and the chance to have your book signed by the man himself!
