Future Perfect : The changing face of girls' comics

The LJMU Library Services event will be using the Femorabilia comics collection held at LJMU to explore the history of girls' comic titles such as Misty, Tammy, Jackie and Jinty.

Drop in any time during the day to look at these classic comics, find out the value of any titles you have, or have a go at drawing and colouring your own comic strips. We also have a great line-up of speakers:
11.00am: Girls’ Comics and their Readers - Dr Mel Gibson, University of Northumbria

12.00noon: Feminism and zines - changing the world with comic strips: Rachael House, artist
1.30pm: Writing for Young People: Cathy Cassidy, author and former fiction editor of Jackie

3.00pm: Panel discussion session with all three speakers

Registration required.
