This is a #BeACritic event, commissioned by Liverpool John Moores University’s School of Art and Design, Arts Council England and The Double Negative Magazine, this special lecture is part of the wider Artists' City project which encourages more critical discussion of the arts in Merseyside.
Why does art matter and what does it tell us about ourselves and the culture in which it was/is created? How do we assess the importance of art?
Promising no definitive answers, Sony Award-winning broadcaster, writer and art historian Tim Marlow will attempt to wrestle with some of the big questions, and discuss some of the art projects that have shaped his illustrious career. Tim will also be joined by Tate Liverpool's Artistic Director Francesco Mancorda for a Q&A.
