Using interactive resources and giant eye model, Liverpool University's Dr Valentina Barrera will discuss common eye diseases and how vision works. Through the retina, you will start an exciting journey into neuroscience, exploring the eye as a window to the brain, and how eye examination can help to diagnose many different diseases of the vascular system.
Dr Valentina Barrera is a biologist and research associate at the Eye and Vision Science Department of Liverpool University. She obtained her PhD in Turin in 2011. Her background is in infectious diseases and in the last three years she has focused her research on eye complication in children with malaria in Sub-Saharan Africa.
