Exploring Gender Fluidity Through Science Fiction and Fantasy

Enabling someone to 'change sex' sounds like the stuff of science fiction. Yet in our world people do change gender, not just between male and female - but also away from that binary. Cheryl Morgan looks at how science fiction and fantasy literature has dealt with gender fluidity, and how it has come to terms with it the real world.
