The Man Who Opened the Berlin Wall

Harald Jäger is the Stasi Officer who disobeyed orders which resulted in the fall of the Berlin Wall. He will be accompanied by writer and actor, Gerhard Haase-Hindenberg, who published a book: The Man who Opened the Berlin Wall.

They will be at the University for the only UK date of their world tour marking the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989. Join them for a unique and historical 'in conversation' event.

The lecture is part of our ‘Security and Conflict’ lecture series, which has previously featured Colonel Tim Collins, Sir Bernard Hogan Howe, Maajid Nawaz, Lord Dannatt and Rageh Omaar.
